Cedars Inn has 13 guestrooms and two cabins. Each room is unique - not just in design but in atmosphere, too.
Built in 1936 during the peak of the gold rush, Cedars Inn originally operated as a hospital. While it has been decades since doctors with stethoscopes wandered the hallways, some early design features provide an other-world charm - like spacious rooms with 10-foot ceilings and a magnificent setting along the River's edge, which means every room has a view.

Depending on the season, you'll see salmon spawning in the stream, bears fishing along the bank, deer grazing on the lawn, seals swimming in the inlet, and stellar jays, ravens, hummingbirds, bald eagles, trumpeter swans and a host of other wildlife flying, floating, swimming, or ambling by.
Got kids? Bring them along. There's no charge for children under 12 in the same room. And if all the excitement of the great outdoors is too much for them, guest rooms have free wireless Internet so they can check in with their friends, even if it's just to gloat.
Every room and cabin has
- Comfortable beds
- Satellite TV
- Private bathroom with either shower or shower/bath
- Direct dial telephone
- Individual thermostat
- River or mountain view
Rooms with fridges and kitchenettes are available.
Have a look at the room descriptions. If you see a room you prefer, please mention this when making your reservation.

In Zeballos there is a post office, clinic and ambulance service. For boaters there is a concrete boat ramp, moorage with power & water; and a fuel dock. Zeballos Store is adjacent to the wharf. It carries liquor & cold beer, groceries, ice and bait. You will also find secure parking for cars, boats and trailers behind this building.
Wander into town and have a look around. The museum and nature trails are worth a visit and you might find a few little oddities that will make good entries in your blog or journal.
Blue Heron Restaurant
Zeballos and the Blue Heron were recently featured in the North Island Midweek.
Follow the author of Zeballos Bound and visit us for a day or longer!
The Blue Heron restaurant overlooks Zeballos River, a perfect vantage point for watching bears, birds and other wildlife, feeding and nesting along its banks and estuary.
Continental breakfasts are available for people on the go. Breakfasts include omelettes and Eggs Benny; as well as fresh fruit and yogurt.
Bagged lunches can be ordered for your fishing trips or tours.
Dinner specialties of the house include local salmon & halibut, authentic Italian style pastas, served with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano; and steak & ribs.
Dessert and coffee? Try freshly baked cheesecake and local fruit crisps with and expresso or latte. The Blue Heron Restaurant has a full-service bar featuring Martinis, Caesars and liqueurs as well as a good assortment of BC wines and ales.
